Strategic Roadmap — Work In Progress

Project Roadmap & Strategy

Building the Future, One Bolt at a Time

"I'm building my own DeLorean DMC-12 from the frame up — and you get to ride shotgun the whole way. Kia Stinger GT powerplant tuned for 450–600hp, Porsche 911 transaxle, then converting the whole thing into the world's most badass working time machine."

Phase 01

The Base DMC-12 Build

Sourcing the donor car, frame-off rust treatment, suspension overhaul, and the heart transplant. The driving experience gets a full modernization while keeping the iconic stainless shell.

Phase 02

Time Machine Conversion

Fabricating the Flux Capacitor, wiring period-correct 80s logic boards, exterior prop mounting, sound design, and cinematic visual effects to match movie lore — frame-accurate.

Ongoing

Media & Broadcasting

Shop studio setup, lighting rigs, camera workflows. Managing the pipeline from Live Stream (Twitch / YT Live) to polished VOD episodes with consistent cadence and quality.

Ongoing

Merchandise & E-Commerce

Sourcing high-quality apparel, evaluating dropship vs. local printing logistics, and planning limited-edition "milestone" product drops tied to build events.

Infrastructure

Community & Platform Engineering

Building the digital hub at mcflyco.com, launching the Discord "Pit Crew", and developing the gamified Web App build tracker — subscriber engagement from day one.

The Unconventional Heart: Kia Stinger GT × Porsche 911 Transaxle

Swapping in a Kia Stinger GT Lambda II 3.3L Twin-Turbo V6 — tuned to the 450–600hp sweet spot — and mating it to a Porsche 911 transaxle is the build's secret weapon. This combination is genuinely rare and deeply searchable on YouTube. It brings in the gearheads, the tuning community, and the Porsche purists — audiences a standard LS swap simply wouldn't capture. The engineering challenge alone is a content series.

🔩

The Tech

Stinger GT / Porsche Swap

Deep-dive mechanics and engineering problem-solving. Evergreen "searchable" content that brings in gearheads, automotive purists, and the tuning community long after it's published.

01

Brand Lockdown

Secure mcflyco.com and all social handles immediately. Establish naming consistency across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Discord, and Twitch before launch.

02

The Teaser Trailer

Film the "Coming Soon" teaser before the move to Sacramento. Sets the tone, captures the energy, and gives the launch something real to post.

03

Sponsor One-Pager

Create the media kit PDF for outreach to parts companies — coilovers, ECU brands, tool manufacturers. In-kind or cash. Get it out early.

04

Tech Stack Launch

Deploy the simple landing page for email capture and early audience generation. Even 500 subscribers at launch changes the trajectory of the first episode's performance.

05

Confirm Filming Cadence

Align on realistic filming schedule relative to health and build timeline. Set expectations early — consistency matters more than frequency on YouTube.

06

Acquire the Donor Car

Source and secure the DMC-12 chassis. Document everything from first contact — the search itself is content. Start the camera the moment the hunt begins.

⚠ Open Questions to Resolve

📍 Location — Confirmed
John relocates to Roseville, CA on June 1, 2026 to begin the in-person search for a property with house + workshop/garage — the physical home base for the entire build operation. Property selection criteria: workshop/garage space sufficient for a DMC-12 teardown, ceiling clearance, electrical capacity for shop equipment.
? Confirm realistic filming cadence given health situation
? Establish rough Phase 1 budget ceiling
? Comfort level with on-camera personal storytelling
? Sponsorship aggression: pure hobby vs. active business push?
? Target timeline for property secured and shop operational?
? Film the property search? (Potential "finding the shop" content arc)
